Goring beach is a great place to kite surf, even at low or high tide, although personally I think the best conditions are found at Mid to High, this usually creates some nice smooth flats, between some nicely formed kickers.

Low tide produces some lovely flat conditions, although the walk to reach the water can be a painful experience due to the large flints rock beds along the way - boots definitely recommended.

Goring beach at high tide, in my opinion, is one to avoid. Large shore dump and choppy sea state especially when the winds blowing F5+ This is usually enough to put the locals off, although some of the more advanced riders don’t seem to mind.

500 meters away from the Green is our local weather station, kindly provided by WeatherCam this provides the real time weather readings, but generally speaking, if the wind is blowing Westerly then it's best to add another 5 knots to the reading.
Another great advantage of Goring beach, is the large greensward and the free parking right on the seafront, this offers the bonus of being able to launch and land your kite on the safely of the green, plenty of space to lay out your lines to check for ware and tear, and the best of all, a great place to chat to fellow kite surfers.

All the locals are usually happy enough to help out or provide advice and generally keep and eye out for one another. Just up from the greensward is Sea Lane Cafe, which provide toilets, hot And cold drink, nice food and a friendly service. The Cafe sits right on the coast over looking the sea, perfect for the spectators to check out the moves and grab something to eat!

If your planning on kiting at Goring, then it's always recommended to bring a full kite quiver.
Due to the position of the Worthing Downs, we seem to get boost in the wind strength, (know as the Worthing Effect) this tends to kick in around mid afternoon and can sometimes add as much as 10 knots onto the predicted forecast.

Quite often, we see non locals put up 12m's and then the Worthing Effect kicks in, meaning these kites become seriously over powered, this also combined with the rocks and flints beds is not a very pleasant experience.

If you are new to the area, then always chat to the locals to find out the views on the wind and tides. Most of the locals will be happy to help and provide advice.
